Day 4: Harley Hops, Amish Roads & Chocolate Dreams
Today promises a fantastic blend of motorcycle culture and serene countryside. We'll kick off the day with a 220-mile ride, making special stops at Lancaster Harley-Davidson, York Harley-Davidson, Eisenhower's Harley-Davidson, and Iron Valley Harley-Davidson.
After our dealer visits, we'll immerse ourselves in the tranquil landscapes of Amish Country. Our journey will lead us along picturesque back roads, offering a unique glimpse into a timeless way of life. Keep your eyes peeled for horse-drawn buggies as we travel! We'll have the chance to browse unique items at several Amish shops, perfect for finding a memorable souvenir.
For lunch, we'll indulge in a legendary feast at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, renowned for its incredible variety. After a full day of riding and exploring, we'll return to our hotel in Hershey to relax and refresh. In the evening, we'll make a final visit to the world-famous Hershey's Chocolate World for a sweet treat and any last-minute chocolate souvenir shopping.
Day 5: Coal Country's Echoes, Eerie Sights & Twisty Roads
Today, our journey takes us deep into Pennsylvania's past, exploring historic old coal towns and some truly unique natural phenomena. But first, we'll make a stop at Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson to kick off the day.
Our next major adventure is the Pioneer Coal Mine Tour. Here, we'll descend deep underground to explore the fascinating world of a real coal mine and even enjoy a thrilling steam train ride. Emerging from the depths, we'll then set our sights on Centralia, the real-life inspiration for the "Silent Hill" movies. We'll witness the eerie sight of a town perpetually burning from an underground fire. Along the way, we'll marvel at the impressive and active Big Mine Run Geyser.
The ride continues with an exciting descent down the legendary Snake Road into Mount Carmel, where we'll refuel with some well-deserved local pizza. Finally, we'll enjoy a scenic country ride through Shamokin, looping back to our hotel via some exhilarating twisty roads, a perfect end to a day of exploration.
Day 6: Thrills, Nostalgia & Harley History
Today offers a blend of exhilarating riding and unique attractions. We'll start with an invigorating ride along some winding roads, leading us to the charming Knoebels Amusement Resort. Here, we can explore their museums, particularly the coal mine exhibits, and enjoy some classic amusement park rides. And who can resist a delicious funnel cake?
Our journey then takes an interesting turn as we visit Bill's Old Bike Barn, promising a unique glimpse into a massive collection of vintage and unusual items. Our final stop today will be Vreeland's Harley-Davidson, completing a day of diverse experiences.
Day 7: Elk Country's Majesty & a Somber Reflection
Our journey culminates today with a memorable ride into the heart of Elk Country. We'll embark on a scenic 127-mile loop, winding through five counties along the renowned Elk Scenic Loop. Prepare to be captivated by the landscapes and keep a keen eye out for the majestic elk that call this region home. After our awe-inspiring ride through nature, we'll head south to the Flight 93 National Memorial, a place of profound significance.
Day 8: Honoring Heroes & the Journey Home
Today, we'll begin by paying our respects at the Flight 93 National Memorial, taking time to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes of that day. Following this impactful visit, we'll begin our journey back to Pensacola, carrying with us the memories of an incredible motorcycle adventure.
